volume overload causes atrial flutter
atrial flutter is an early pathofisiological outcome of volume overload. it is a result of over hydration such as drinking too much water, or even other liquids including alcohol, and is just secondary to tachycardia.
it is due to increased volume moving across an atrioventricular valve, and in this scenario an increase in pressure, which is almost always a case.
