sugar can be and likely usually is the incident primary causal factor, especially refined sugars. fats are still a major modifier . but the carcinogenic trigger is likely mostly, and almost always smoking especially during those overoads of sugar, and modifiying increases of fat intake. this part is very much more preventable. however, there are other carcinogens too. there is a list via NIH. (National Institute of Health) alcohol likely is also a more minor modifier as compared to smoking cigarettes, but it also is a cause of pancreatitis. so that damage along with smoking causes pancreatic cancer. in that case smoking is the primary factor of the transformation of those pancreatic cells to cancers and carcinoma of the pancreas. where as the alcohol is a primary insult, or factor, of the damage to the pancreatic cells. alcohol might not necessarily cause transformation of cells of humans.
