In conclusion, eating meat is still very important.
For Athletes when young, eat as much as you want to, but try not to over eat too much at times.
For instance, when I was in kindergarten, grade school and high school, from birth even, I was very selctive about what I ate especially once I could reach and open the refrigerator and also by the time I could climb on the counters of my mother's and father's counters I was selecting what I wanted to eat.
I kept choosing shredded wheat for instance and whole milk, and I often, but not always added brown sugar.
And later on I would choose chicken legs .
I also kept eating as much yogurt as I wanted.
I cooked eggs a lot.
I loved and enjoyed toast with butter.
I always prefered sausage to bacon.
I also loved ham for pig meat.
My mother did a lot of the groceries. But my father really already knew how to cook in a healthier way.
One day in Mississauga, my father was home with me, and I think Nadine, my sister, was in that apartment with us.
My father made an onion, scalllion, and tomato, and some other simple vegetables with vinegar and he added some pepper, and I think he might have added a little bit of salt too, But he stopped adding that salt , I think.
It was like he did not want to show me his secret cooking skills.
As if I was spying on him, or something.
Any way , he let me eat some of it with him, as it was his dinner and mine.
And it tasted great.
I was surprised and impressed.
Where as my mother was laboring and laboring to prepare each meal, And my mother often burned the rice accidentally.
My mother did use betty crocker cook books though.
And my mother did make some decent desserts.
One example is when she kept making spanish flan but one that is very rich in ingredients. It was almost like cheesecake. and she made it over and over and over again, several times. And she finally perfected it one time.
That flan was from reading and following the directions of a betty crocker cook book.
By high school , so just after eighth grade as I was preparing for ninth grade, I started to remove the yolk from my eggs occasionally, when ever I felt like I had enough fat on my body. but I had like 5 to 9 to 12 percent body fat. it was very low, like 7 to 9 percent of body fat.
I had about 7 to 9 percent body fat on my body when I was in my prime conditions as an athlete and soccer player. I am a man though.
One of the reasons why I choose to and decided to remove that yolk from my eggs is because I watched a lot of television and I had seen and paid attention to a commercial about egg whites, and then on the news there was also information presented about cholesterol reduction and the little things that could be done to reduce one's cholesterol.
So since I was understanding biology, because I read my text books, and had some decent teachers. and appropriate teachers,
I started to realize that the yole of eggs was the nucleus of a cell and that , or rather, therefore, I could reduce my fat consumption, which must have included cholesterol, by removing the yolk of the eggs that I was planning to eat.
I did this a few times and some times it felt great because I felt lighter and less stuffed.
