gelin etienne and michael warren. both are delusional.
So, after contemplating many times over years, a I have concluded that belief in a god is a delusion.
Both Gelin Etienne and Michael Warren have this delusion.
Gelin is a homeless man. He is black african haitian. he is dark skinned, but not the blackest. He stands outside in the elements of the weather for most of the day. Often, he can be found at the Prudential Center, just staying out of the way, and somehow he still gets enough to eat.
Gelin states to me often, that he is on a sacriifice. He is communicating with god, he explains to me. God is somehow getting into his brain. I respond to him that he is delusional and that he is wasting his time. He retorts that I will eventually see.
I know this is a delusion, and unfortunately for him, he still does not have a bed to sleep on, or an abode to protect him from the elements of the weather of Boston.
Michael Warren is a priest. He is an irish catholic caucasian. He staye inside the prudential at saint francis chapel and also down at the Saint Joseph Retreat House, and he too suffers from a delusion of god. Or at least is hindered in enjoying all of the ways of living as he has taken an oath of priesthood. vows. and has been living this way believing in a god. Again, there is no god, merely humans and other animals with brains, and the elements of the universe, and plants and trees, and all of these things. None created by god, but rather a result of eellular evolution. evolution of particles and matter into what it is today.
It is not that they are necessarily unhappy most of the time with their beliefs, but they are conforming and often this means letting go of some instinctive desires and controlling ones self rather than finding the ways to maintain all of one's desires and finding the like minded people and the environments where a person can be free of false beliefs, and of conforming to others delusions.
